Vanessa Yurkevich is a native American New Yorker  journalist who began her journalism career at NY1 News. Yurkevich is the Chief TV & Digital Correspondent at CNN News.  As a one-man band reporter she interviewed New Jersey Governor Chris Christie and New York Senators Charles Schumer and Frank Lautenberg. Vanessa has also worked for Associated Press Television in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and for the BBC. She is the recipient of the Scripps Howard Reporting on Immigration  Fellowship, and the “Russia/US Media Fellowship” from the Knight Foundation.

Vanessa started off as an Intern in ABC News and CBS News in 2006. In March 2006, she was an Intern in Radio Cultura, Argentina wherein she assisted producers for field interviews. She even participated in the weekly broadcast of the Spanish tourism program and took calls from show listeners. At the start of 2012, Yurkevich started off as a news Reporter for The New York Times. From 2010 to 2012 she worked as Reporter for NY1 News & from January 2008 to August 2011, she had been Segment & Field Producer for the News Channel. The two different roles included researching, writing, editing, shooting and reporting stories from New Jersey, Queens and Staten Island.

She also worked independently for Zazoom Media Group as the host of the show Buzz60. Between Oct 2012 and Sep 2014, Vanessa worked as Freelance Correspondent for Fast Track, BBC and then as a Correspondent for Blouin News & Blouin Artinfo. In October 2014, she joined CNN
