Tracy Hutson Interview

Tracy was interviewed about her then up webseries Momtourage. The show will feature a mom who has overcome incredible adversity. Tracy pays a surprise visit to each woman’s home, listens to her story, learns about her family life and offers a fun and inspirational interior design intervention.

How do you pick which topics are featured in the video series?

Tracy Hutson: I look for deserving moms in need that have been outstanding examples in their community. Along with having spaces that need help through functional design.

What are some simple changes a mom can do to freshen up their home for spring?

Tracy Hutson: Spring is my favorite season! It’s easy to get inspired by bringing the outdoors in. The same way you would do with your wardrobe. It’s time to edit your heavy winter accessories! Take your sofa for example, you might have a heavy winter throw and decorative pillows in a winter pallet, swap those for a new throw and silk pillows in a new spring color pallet. Fuchsia, aqua or sea green are some of my favorites. Time to bring out all of your vases and hit the farmers market for fresh cut flowers. Sweet peas are my favorite.

What are your goals for this video series?

Tracy Hutson: My goal with this series is to inspire moms everywhere to take time away from their busy lives and lend a hand where help is needed to other moms.

Why do you think design is so hard for busy moms?

Tracy Hutson: I understand how busy moms can get, as just getting through the day can be a challenge.

Design is a reflection from being passionate and inspired. This can be hard when you are tired and overwhelmed. The irony is that through design…even the smallest amount…can elevate your mood, and bring inspiration back to your busy life.

It can be as simple as swapping out your duvet cover or bright new hand towels in your powder bath! The goal is to have fun and remind ourselves not to take everything so seriously!
