Scott Reister Biography
Scott Reister is an American sports director for KCCI News. He joined KCCI in September 2009 as the weekend sports anchor/weekday sports reporter and became Sports Director in August 2018.
While in high school he attempted to dunk a basketball and wound up breaking both of his wrists. It was at that moment Scott realized a pro contract was not in his future. So he did the next best thing and started a career reporting on the sports he loved.
His first job in his career was at KRHD-TV in College Station, Texas. After a year, he landed at KXXV-TV in Waco, Texas as the weekend sports anchor. Three years later, he was hired as Sports Director at KNDU-TV in Kennewick, Washington. While in the Northwest, he was the sideline reporter for Spokane Sports Television, calling nationally-broadcast Arena Football Games and hydroplane races. Scott was honored twice by the Society of Professional Journalists for his sports reporting. From there he joined KCCI.

Scott grew up in Dallas and then attended the University of Texas at Austin. While in school, he interned at the NBC affiliate in Austin and also was Sports Director at the student TV station, KVR.
