Rob Zabrecky (Robert Zabrecky) is an actor, songwriter and musician from America. He began his professional career as a musician as the front man for the 1989-1999 former rock band, “Possum Dixon”. Zabrecky then later joined the acting industry and became a magician too.

Rob Zabrecky Career (Musician, Magician and Actor)

From 1989, Rob joined a rock music band as a singer, bassist and used to write songs for the group too. The group was based in Los Angeles, originally hailing from Silver Lake. Possum Dixon. Rob and his high school friends Celso Chavez, and Bryan Kovacs (drums and percussion) in 1989. The group’s name was from a suspected murderer mentioned on the television show “America’s Most Wanted”. They, however, broke up in 1999 and had released three albums.

Zabrecky stumbled into magic in the mid-90s and has since grown to be an award-winning magician at the Magic Castle in Hollywood, California.

He became an actor in the mid-2000s. He had a supporting role in the supernatural drama, A Ghost Story in 2017. He had another supporting role in the film Lost River where he played the character of the master of ceremonies at an underground fetish nightclub. In the psychological thriller, Decay, Zabrecky landed a starring role through which he portrays a troubled theme park groundskeeper who falls in love with a corpse.

He has also had several appearances in commercials and TV shows like GLOW, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, Comedy Bang! Bang! and Angie Tribeca.

Zabrecky is also a magic performer, known for an aberrant magician character he portrays by combining irreverent dark humor, mentalism and an artful use of elongated pauses in performances. As a magician, he has been to different parts of the world for his work. He is a regular performer at the Magic Castle since 2002. In 2003, he formed the magic trio, “The Unholy Three”.

Between 2010 and 2016, The Zabrecky Hour, a one-man variety show, premiered and was developed at the Steve Allen Theater. It was directed by Tommi Zabrecky and John Lovick and it featured highlights from his Magic Castle act, song & dance, conversations with the moon and audience interaction.

For his performances, he was voted “Stage Magician of the Year” in 2011 and 2012 by the Academy of Magical Arts at the Magic Castle. The same organization voted him “Parlour Magician of the Year” in 2014 and 2015.
