Pete Grigsby Biography
Pete Grigsby is an American TV Meteorologist. He has been an on-air since the year 1990, last 20 years in Kansas City, MO (KMBC). Initially, before he got to KMBC, he was in Norfolk VA (WTKR), Evansville IN (WEVV), and Bowling Green KY (WBKO). College Internship at WKYT, Lexington, KY.

Pete was born and raised in the great state of Kentucky as the youngest of 3 sons of their parents. As a child, he says that Science was his a subject of his own through school with a strong side interest in broadcasting. “During my senior year in HS, Dale McKinney, owner of WMDJ Radio, made an offer that eventually directed & began my career. I was trained and given part-time on-air work at the radio station, then by college, I took my love of Science and broadcasting & merged them together. The rest is history”, he says.

Pete is a very educated man. Upon his graduation from high school, he further extended his education; he went to Brigham Young University where he graduated with the following:

Speaking of his personal life, Pete is a married man. He is married to Michelle. the couple has two children, Nyla and Pete IV.

Pete Grigsby Career
Speaking of his career, Pete developed his interest in weather forecasting as since he was a youngster. He has been an on-air TV Meteorologist since the year 1990, last 20 years in Kansas City, MO (KMBC). Initially, before he got to KMBC, he was in Norfolk VA (WTKR), Evansville IN (WEVV), and Bowling Green KY (WBKO). College Internship at WKYT, Lexington, KY.
After almost 10 years at KMBC, to suit better family hours, Pete balanced his career way (July 2008) by accepting a job as a manager for the Blue Springs School District, supervising a TV Station, BSSD TV, and BSSD Radio Station for its High Schools. Additionally, Pete also teaches Meteorology & Broadcasting classes, such as Jag TV at Blue Springs South High School. He is still low maintenance with KMBC TV, filling in when required.
Since 1999, Bryan Busby and Pete have not only worked together but have also covered many severe weather events on KMBC. “I’ve learned a great deal from him Even after my departure from full-time TV, we remain close friends and basically brothers.”
Aside with his onscreen career, he was also With offers to play school basketball at Auburn under mentor Sonny Smith and with Charles Barkley, BYU and different universities. However, he chose to leave the game and focus on concentrates in both Broadcast/Journalism and Meteorology.
