Max Wright Biography

Max Wright was an American actor, best known for his role as Willie Tanner on the sitcom ALF. His full name was George Edward, Maxwell Wright.

Besides appearing on ALF, Wright made appearances on TV shows such as WKRP in Cincinnati.

Besides appearing on ALF, Wright made appearances on TV shows such as WKRP in Cincinnati. He was also a regular cast member on Misfits of Science, AfterMASH, Buffalo Bill and The Norm Show, as well as appearing in the made-for-TV adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand.

Wright also briefly in the first and second seasons of the sitcom Friends as Terry, the manager of Central Perk. He played Guenter Wendt in the 1998 HBO miniseries From the Earth to the Moon and Dr. Josef Mengele in Playing for Time.

He also enjoyed a stage career in theater and acted at regional theaters around the United States. In 1968, Wright appeared in the original production of The Great White Hope at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C.

In 1998, Wright appeared on Broadway in Ivanov, which garnered him a Tony nomination, and played Sir Andrew in Twelfth Night at Lincoln Center.

Later in 2007, he acted at the JET (Jewish Ensemble Theatre) in Detroit. Also that year, he acted in the production of No Man’s Land at the American Repertory Theater.

Wright also appeared in The Public Theater’s 2010 production of Winters Tale and Merchant of Venice at Shakespeare in the Park.

Max Wright Cause Of Death

In 1995, Wright was diagnosed with lymphoma. It was successfully treated and remained in remission until 2019.

Wright died from lymphoma at the age of 75 at his home in Hermosa Beach, California on June 26, 2019.
