Lori Burkholder Biography

Lori Burkholder is an American anchor who is the co-anchor of News 8 Today every weekday morning from 4:30 to 7 a.m. She started at WGAL in 1989 and has held many positions over the years.

Burkholder hosted and produced “Susquehanna People,” a weekly public affairs program, hosted and produced “12:30 Live” for its entire 10-year run, anchored for “News 8 at Noon” and reported for the evening newscasts.

She has won several Emmy’s and AP awards and reports on a variety of issues. Lori’s gotten to work on special projects such as the Olympic Games of 2006 and 2008.

Burkholder reported from the floor of the New York Stock Exchange, gave viewers an inside look at death row, reported from the aircraft of the 193rd Special Operations Wing and went one on one with that other morning news team in New York, “The Today Show.”

She has interviewed politicians both nationally and locally as well as celebrities, but her favorite stories are the ones that happen in our communities and affect people in their daily lives.

When not covering the news, she spends time speaking at many events, enjoys running, renovating her 18th century home and serving on the PTO Board at her children’s school.
