She had her international breakthrough in June 1997, when she became co-host for Univision’s international morning show, ¡Despierta América! , alongside Rafael José, Neida Sandoval, Fernando Arau, and Ana Maria Canseco. Blondet published her autobiography titled Con los Pies en la Tierra in 2004 and in 2005 she left Despierta América after seven years to host a new television show about real-life tragedies, entitled Historias Para Contar, which resulted to a series of small special episodes.
In 2006, Blondet starred in a Spanish-language Christmas movie opposite actors José Feliciano and Raúl De Molina entitled Feliz Navidad. Her movie was due to be released later in 2006 but was released to DVD and the following year, she landed an opportunity to become the host of a reality show in Univision, called Nuestra Belleza Latina (Our Latin Beauty). In 2010, after 14 years of not acting, she starred as Luz Maria, in an episode of Mujeres Asesinas opposite Cynthia Klitbo in the episode “Luz, Arrolladora”.Blondet was among the celebrities that walked down a catwalk in red dresses in February 2012, for the ‘Heart Truth Red Dress Collection’ show, part of New York Fashion Week. She wore a dress by Oscar de la Renta dress. After hosting Univision’s Nuestra Belleza Latina for 7 years, in 2013, she announced that she was leaving the hit show to pursue other opportunities and hopes to produce her own TV show in the future. She was replaced by Chiquinquirá Delgado.
In June 2014, Blondet launched her own jewellery and bedding collections for Gi by Giselle Blondet through Walmart in Puerto Rico which became a raging success throughout the island and has been projected to be successful internationally. Blondet also decided to release a second book titled, “Tengo 50…Y que?!” in English I’m 50…so what?!, which is a collection of anecdotes aiming to help women transition into the age of 50. She joined Telemundo in January 2016 and was the host of Gran Hermano USA which was cancelled after one season. In February 2017, she returned to Univision to host Pequeños Gigantes USA. Blondet returned as a presiding judge during Nuestra Belleza Latina’s 2018 season.
