David Bruckner began working in the entertainment field professionally at age 26 when he wrote and directed the movie, ‘Last Goodbye.’ This movie featured the Academy Award winner Faye Dunaway and the late screen legend David Carradine.

Then he co-wrote/produced/directed a sci-fi horror apocalypse tale The Signal which was bought by Magnolia Pictures. The Signal was designated for The John Cassavetes Award at the 2009 Spirit Awards. He scored another classification accomplishment with My Super Psycho Sweet 16.

He tailed it up in 2010 with the similarly fruitful continuation My Super Psycho Part 2 and The Ghost Inside clip for Broken Bells featuring Christina Hendricks. The Sci-fi small-scale film was designated for an MTV Video Music Award.

When Gentry was unable to contribute to the horror anthology V/H/S (2012), he suggested Bruckner, who eventually co-wrote and directed the segment “Amateur Night”. Also released in 2012, his short film Talk Show addresses the torture debate in mainstream media.

He was set to direct a reboot of Friday the 13th for Paramount Pictures but was reported to have left in late 2015. He is set to direct the thriller Intrusion, based on a screenplay by L. D. Goffigan.

His film Southbound was premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival and was picked up for distribution by the Orchard for release in 2016. In 2016, he was an executive producer on SiREN, which was based on his V/H/S segment “Amateur Night”.
