Messner plans to walk the floor, talking to students, while Napoleoni will be giving presentations on broadcast meteorology at the NBC5 booth. NBC5 launched the “Math+Science=Success” initiative in early 2017 with the goal of better preparing students for promising careers.
Recent tests placed US teens 38th place in math and 24th place in science, out of 71 countries. With entire industries requiring math and science skills, American teens are at a disadvantage. With the help of our local partners Jeffords Steel, Schluter Systems and Vermont Tech, we hope to get more students interested in careers in mathematics, science and technology fields. These fields are growing and good candidates are in high demand.
