Bruno Massel Biography
Bruno Massel is American sports commentator mostly known for his commentary skills at the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) drag racing.
He is also known for being the son of Roz Massel and the great Bruno Massel Senior who was a top NHRA drag racer.
His father has established himself as a champion contender on and off the track. He began racing in 1965, and during his time, he not only won various levels of completion in racing but set enormous world records.

He met with famed photographer Bruce Webber and began a modeling career. While at home between photo shoots, Bruno began tinkering in the family business of drag racing.

Bruno is the son of Bruno Massel Senior and Roz Massel. His father is an entrepreneur, inventor, and a drag racing veteran.
His father made his record-setting A/Altered roadster in 1965 and he has also set various national records and has won at all levels of competition.
In 2008 and 2009, his father was named as NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Division 5 “Crew Chief of the Year.” He still holds his position as a crew chief today.
Bruno has three sisters. His sister Debi Massel, works as an event manager. She lives in Lombard, Illinois.
His other sister, Jackie Massel is married. She has two daughters, Morgan Bojesen and Alexis Bojesen, and a son.
The other sister, Suzy Massel Anderson, is also married and has three daughters and one son.

In 2001, Bruno began to switch gears as he tried his hand behind the camera as a television commentator for the IHRA racing series on TNN and SPEED.
Bruno’s knowledge of the motorsports industry and presence in front of the lens has lead to a fulltime career as an on-camera host covering various disciplines of racing and special events in the automotive industry.
He is a co-host of SPEED’s half-hour weekly show “TruckU.” He took on his latest challenge recently in creating his own half-hour pilot “Behind the Helmet” which is currently being viewed by networks for release.

Bruno is still very active behind the wheel. He won in 2009 and 2012. With his 1400+Hp Turbocharged Chevy Cobalt, he has made his mark on the drag racing world securing 2-NHRA World Championships.
He has been awarded awards like “Driver of the Year” five West Central Division Competition Championships in 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012, and 2013.
He has also won 3- All-Stars titles and has reset his own national record while laying claim to the highest Championship point total in the history of the category in which he competes.

In 2010, Bruno was involved in a car crash at the Route 66 Raceway. They had won the Saturday night All-Star race and had a preliminary round of racing the next morning
He crashed his car pretty bad and he had a concussion but he walked away alive.
