Alyssa Rae Biography
Alyssa Rae is an American CBS 17 Sports Anchor/Reporter who joined the Team after spending four years as the Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter at WSLS 10 in her hometown Roanoke, Virginia, U.S.
She began her broadcast career in Beckley, West Virginia where she served as Sports Director for WVNS. Her love for sports, specifically football, started at a young age.
Born in Columbus, Ohio Alyssa was raised a Buckeye fan. She graduated from Virginia Tech and had the honor of covering her alma mater while in Roanoke.
During her time in Beckley, she was the West Virginia Broadcasters Association recipient for “Best Sportscast.”
In Roanoke, Alyssa joined an award-winning sports team that was named “Best Sports Operation of the Virginia’s” by the Virginias Associated Press Broadcasters for back to back years in 2017 and 2018. The WSLS team also won Virginia Association of Broadcasters “Most Outstanding Sports Coverage” in 2016.
Rae is thrilled to be in the heart of ACC country and to be able to cover the Hurricanes and Panthers on top of college and high school sports.
