Adam Carolla Biography

Adam Carolla is an American comedian, radio personality, television host, actor, podcaster, director and best selling author. He is well-known as the host of the most popular podcast The Adam Carolla Show, which made the Guinness World Records in 2011 as the most downloaded podcast of the year. Carolla has made guest appearances on a number of notable political talk shows. He has also featured in the reality shows Dancing With the Stars (2008) as well as The Celebrity Apprentice (2012).

His parents separated when Adam was young. Adam was raised by his mother McCall. His maternal step-grandfather was screenwriter  László Görög, who wrote The Mole People.

During his early years, Carolla played Pop Warner Football for seven years. He later suggested that being involved in sports saved him from a chaotic home life. In December 1981 he was named to the First Team Offensive Line, Central Valley League, one of 8 leagues at the time in the LA City Section of the California Interscholastic Federation.

The 3, 980 square feet home has 5 bedrooms, 4 vintage bathrooms, a ranch house, and several other amenities and characteristics of a modern home. Adam and his wife previously owned a 3, 992 square foot hacienda home which they ought in 2013 at $2,965,000.

In 2005, the couple later sold the property for$ 3,390,000 in September. They also sold off their Spanish-styled villa in Hollywood Hills at the price of $4,800,000. The Adam Carolla show made its premiere on January 6, 2006. The show ran successfully for 3 years then it was canceled due to a format shift at the flagship station KLSX. The show’s final episode was aired on February 20, 2009. Carolla promptly launched the daily podcast The Adam Carolla Podcast on February 23, 2009. The show scored over 1.6 million downloads in its inception week which was initially broadcast on Carolla’s personal Website. The show was named the Best Audio Podcast Of 2009 by iTunes.

Adam’s  TV host career was also quite successful. In 2005  Carolla created the short-lived television talk show Too Late with Adam Carolla as well as the one-season-long reality TV series The Adam Carolla Project. The media personality had more success as the host of the Spike TV reality series Catch a Contractor (2014-2015).

As an actor, Carolla was the lead actor in the 2007 comedy film The Hammer which he co-wrote himself. He made a brief appearance in the 2009 independent film Still Waiting. Adam has voiced several characters in a number of animated series including Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Family Guy and Drawn Together. The talented actor also voiced character Wynnchell in the Disney animated film Wreck-It-Ralph(2012).
